After playing two supporting roles, Zhegu finally landed the lead as the eponymous hero of Tomka and His Friends, a role for which he would always be remembered. Apart from the three films listed above, the only other film in which Zhegu starred was Një jetë më shumë / One More Life which was released in 1986, when Zhegu was a young man. But Zhegu never succeeded in becoming a professional actor, and One More Life was to be his last film. In the end he opened a bar called 'Vila 31', which became known informally as 'Tomka's Bar'. He died at the age of 57, after a long battle with illness.
