This whippet-thin blond boy first appeared on the screen as the lead character in The Ballad of Salomon Pavey. The TV Times states that he was 13 years old when this TV play was broadcast in late December 1977, and describes him as a Londoner, but otherwise conveys nothing further about him. All the boys in this production were choristers. In 1979, Harris had another lead role in the BBC miniseries The Strange Affair of Adelaide Harris. Given that this was broadcast in January, he is likely to have been 14 years old at the time. He does not seem to have starred in anything else, and nothing further is known about him.
